Student Instructor Programme
The Maker Space offers students the opportunity to join the Student Instructor Programme.
Student Instructors keep the space open out-of-hours, extending the time that the Maker Space is accessible, and assist in using the equipment where needed. Currently, Instructors keep the space open from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm twice a week.
Benefits of becoming a student instructor include:
- Priority in specialist and certified machine training.
- Access to commercial live briefs and paid work opportunities.
- Excellent on your CV.
- Maker Space branded hoodie.
Student instructor responsibilities:
- Work in and manage the Maker Space unsupervised.
- Understand the rules of working in the Maker Space and oversee other users.
- Support students in learning how to use laser cutters and 3D printers.
- Provide a welcoming and accessible environment for new students – there’s no such thing as a stupid question in the Maker Space!
